Car Boot Sale Haul

After reading zoella's many posts about carboot findings I couldn't wait for my mum to do one. We never really go to carboots unless she's selling and that only happens about once a year. Unfortunately I wasn't half as lucky as Zoe was but I do like what I got.

I got the first top for 50p and the long top/dress for £2. It's actually from newlook so it's a bargain! The buttons were 80p and the make up bag with the goodies were 50p. I got the MAC eyeshadow for free because there was hardly anything left and it had shattered but I managed to compress it.

What goodies have you found at carboot sales recently?

Time for a change

I haven't posted for a while, I know. But this is mainly due to starting at school, lots of homework and lack of time to take photos or write. Frankly I'm just not motivated to do so. I started this blog because I had seen so many others which I loved, and the idea of my only little piece of the internet where I could write down my own thoughts, opinions and interests excited me. I started it with these hopes but it hasn't really worked.

Recently I just haven't really felt like doing anything. Life just hasn't been that great. Not major issues like someone dieing or falling really ill or stuff, just the little things. I'm really unlucky when it comes to the little things. Unfortunately the little things all add up to big things. My friends just call me the unlucky one because if something happens, it happens to me. Recently, it's just been getting to much and I needed to have a sit down and a great big cry. We all do them, when everything gets on top of you and there's stress and friend issues and you just don't feel that great big guy in the sky is on your side. (Or if you don't believe in him or her, or plurals of them... ok, this is getting tricky now... if you're just not having a good day) Sometimes it's hard to carry on. I love drama. My dream is to be on Doctor Who as his companion but you know, I'd die happy knowing that I was part of an episode, even if I was just inside a dalek or as a weeping angel. Any people who make doctor who reading this my email is www.  nahh, I'm only joking ...(phone me at 07...) hehe. So when i failed my drama homework, (which didn't count towards my GCSE of anything, luckily) I was not happy. (considering i failed it by 0.3 of a second, I'm sure you'll understand why.) Hopefully he won't count it against me but I was kinda too upset to understand. Then the little things started to get to me. When other people complain that people don't like them but they're always meeting up with the main members of the group and doing stuff. Or when they complain about guys but you know at least they've had a boyfriend recently. It gets to you. When you're the one who manages to knock tea all over your teacher (don't stand so close behind me, I have a big bag!) it starts to wind you up slowly. You want people to like you, you want guys to like you and when they don't you feel like a great big ugly blob and no matter how much make up you put on you never feel happy or good about yourself. We all feel that way at certain points in our lives. But I've decided it's time for a change.

Firstly starting with this, my blog. I'm going to do more lifey posts, and I really want to do one on confidence. I also want to change how it looks, give it a revamp.

Next my youtube channel - Take a good picture for it as well as my blog! Also try and seem more happy in my videos, it doesn't come across the way I feel inside. By the way my youtube channel is - zannie154, go check it out and don't forget to subscribe!

Be happier in general. No-one likes a moody moaner. I'm going to try and be happier and not as annoying. 'Always look on the bright side of life! doodoo doodoobeedoobedoo'

Do my homework when I get it and also focus on my studies! I'm not going to waste my time on stuff that's not important.

Be nice to my siblings and be more helpful. Maybe they'll like me more then...hmm

Finally, keep my room tidy! Without my room being tidy, I don't get my pocket money and without pocket money I can't buy stuff!

So there are my almost the end of the year new year's resolutions because I need to change my life a bit because it's just not going the way I want it to, and big guy in the sky, if you are there, will you send some luck my way please! Pretty please with fluttery eyelashes on top!

Product Rant: Miss Patisserie Bath Fizzies

I received these as a birthday present way back in April and I just put it aside as I don't tend to have long relaxing baths, I'm more of a shower person but recently I thought I'd give them a go.

I just picked one out randomly and it smelt good so I thought I'd use it. I stupidly didn't read the instructions as I didn't see them on the side and ran my bath. (I should say now that I am a bath bomb novice and have no idea how to use them really.) I didn't know whether to take the case off and ended up taking half of it off and leaving the other half on as the bomb was falling apart.

(This is when it looked nice and pretty)

So the 'fizz' part of the bomb had already separated and was doing a fantastic job of fizzing for about 5 seconds and only fizzing in a very little circle. Now I was expecting bigger fizz and longer fizz as it's quite a big bomb. So the 'fizz' part of it was extremely disappointing and that wasn't the worst bit.

So it was once the fizz had disappeared that I turned to the rest of the bomb which was slowly moving around, not disintegrating and leaving a pinky reddy hue everywhere it went. Cool, I thought a pink bath! As it was moving sooo slowly I tried to help it by pushing it around. I took my hand out of the bath to find a pinkyish stain on a couple of my fingers and tried to wash it off but it wouldn't. I realised that this was caused by the petals and had to hurriedly remove the petals with out making my hands anymore red. I let out all the water to stop my skin turining red as that's not a good look.

Sorry I didn't take anymore photos but I was kind of dealing with a dodgy bath bomb, stained fingers and a possible pink bath (which I'm sure my mum wouldn't have been impressed with despite the fact it was pink) so I hope you understand but it really wasn't exciting to look at because I didn't leave it in that long.

Anyway, I ended up taking off all the petals and rinsing off the red and glittery bit to prevent stained skin and got in the bath. I had to literally break it up myself into greasy little small pieces which did nothing for my skin and looked and felt so gross that I emptied my bath again.

What it says it does - "Miss Patisserie Bath Fizzies create a bath of effervescent fizz and froth, softening the water and releasing gorgeous fragrances. They leave your skin feeling super soft and smelling oh so sweet!"

It does nothing really. It sits in your bath, stains your skin, doesn't disintegrate, doesn't fizz or froth, doesn't soften or moisturise your skin, feels greasy and doesn't make for a nice relaxing bath.

The good points are that it does smell pretty good and they look nice and sweet. The packaging is quite pretty and is very 50's style.

I wouldn't buy these myself.

Have you tried these before? Did you like them?

Sport is for Everyone

A bit of a different post today, but whilst watching one of the many youtube videos that I do everyday (I really need to get out more) I came across this advert that I actually took the time to watch all the way through instead of pressing the 'Skip Ad' button. (Whoever invented that is a genius!) I'm constantly amazed at how much these people can achieve and how focused and determined they are. Even with normal athletes it's astounding how much effort they put into trying to win and to be the best. It's clear to see that despite whatever has happened in these people's lives, whether they were born like it or something occured during their life which has led to the disability they may have, these are certainly people who will strive to be the best. I love how sport accomodates for everyone (though I'm not particularly sporty myself, apart from dance) because I find sport hard. If I find sport hard with no problems that could hold me back how would it be easier for someone who had problems. So the fact we can make sport for everyone and not leave anyone out just makes me really happy. I'm going to forever be in awe of these people and I'm sure you will too. If you could just take a minute or so just to watch this video, you'll see why I find them so great.

August Favourites

Long time no see, or talk..I've been quite busy this summer and needed a bit of time to think about what to write and things...sorry.

This month has been a month for loving a few things I already had. Apart from a few sneaky purchases that somehow managed to creep up into this photo, I've been using what I already had.
Neutral eyes and peachy pink lips and cheeks have been my staple look throughout the summer with the Natural Collection blush in 'Peach Melba' being the most worn thing out of everything.

  Boots Vitamin E Moisture Lotion
I have a blogpost on this but my skin has felt so hydrated from using this which is always important.
I use this daily before I put my make up on as a bit of a base. It feels really nice on the skin and sinks in easily.

 Perfume in Dizzy
This little beauty was £1 from Poundworld and they do have some nice perfumes. They also have some gross ones so smell them all and you might find one you like. This one smells really summery and a bit floral and it's by the make VirtualBrands.

Tresemme Heat Defence Spray
When I like to straighten my hair (which isn't that often) I will always use this. I feel like it protects my hair and also de frizzes it a little. Sometimes I just use it to de frizz because my hair goes huge, and not in a good way.

Palmers Coco Butter Moisturising Lip Balm
I love how soft and smooth this leaves my lips and it feels so nourishing. It leaves a sheeny shiny finish which makes it a little like a lip gloss, but one that helps your lips too! It also smells delicious.

Natural Collection LashLength Mascara in Black
This mascara I love because it lengthens and defines my lashes really nicely. It gives a little bit of volume but as you can see by the name it's main priorities are to lengthen rather than volumise. I think it does it's job extremely well.

Natural Collection Sheer Natural Lipstick in Sand Castle
This is a really pretty peachy pink which has been perfect for the summer as it's such a light summery colour. It's quite sheer but can be built up to create a more opaque colour. It looks really pretty under a pink lipgloss too.

MUA Heaven and Earth Palette
I haven't used any other eyeshadows this month because this bad boy is just AMAZING! It has enough colours to make really nice combinations. They all have a lot of shimmer in them which I love and it also makes them more pigmented. I don't think I'll ever tire of this palette.

Natural Collection Blush in Peach Melba
This is the perfect peachy colour for the summer and I have not worn another blush this month. (ok, maybe I've worn another one once or twice) It's sheer but easily buildable and gives the prettiest flush of colour to the cheeks.

What products have you been loving this month?

NOTD: A Sprinkle of Glitter

I've been loving this combo at the moment. It's summery, and has a bit of the glam factor with it too. The polishes are both from Miss Sporty but I don't know the names, all I know is the glittery one is called thes 'sparkle topcoat.' Like I said in my other post the coverage is quite sheer and this is more than one coat. Also I've used this polish twice and I've already used about half the bottle so that's not great, but I do like it and it was quite cheap. The blue is fairly opaque but it sometimes needs another coat. They do chip quite easily but my top coat is pretty rubbish and the glitter polish is a quite a bad top coat too.

Do you like glitter nail varnish?

Wishlist #1

Barry M Nail Paint in Berry Ice Cream - £2.99
Even though we're heading into autumn and this is more of a spring/summer shade, I've really been wanting a lilac nail varnish and this is the nicest colour I've found and is one of the cheapest. So I'm hoping I might be adding this to my collection fairly soon.

Tan Handbag from Ebay - £14.95
This looks like a Mulberry Alexa bag copy and if I were to buy a designer bag (not that I'll have the money for at least 5 years) it would probably be this one because I really like it. I hope to buy this bag but I'm not really sure I need it. Oh well a girl can't have to many handbags can she?

Technics nail varnish from Ebay - £1.20 (+ £0.75 postage)
I really want to buy this because I am loving glitter nail varnishes and I really want one that I can do an accent nail with. It is also really cheap, under £2 in total! Annoyingly I could have had a nail varnish from Barry M which I really liked the look of which turned out to be the limited edition one for the Jubilee. So being me, I didn't know/realise this so I chose the cheaper one thinking I could always come back another day. I've been kicking myself for weeks about being stupid enough not to buy it, and on top of that the one I did buy (from Miss Sporty) was only £1 cheaper and doesn't give a lot of glitter and is very hard to not get a thick layer of glitter, mainly just a sheer layer over a base colour. (see NOTD to see for yourself.)

                                           Sleek Contour Kit - £6.49
I don't have a matte bronzer or a highlighter and I want to be able to contour so I want to buy this contour kit for that reason. It's at a slightly higher price than I would normally be willing to pay but,it has good reviews and I think it's worth it.

Newlook Burgundy Crew Neck Jumper - £19.99
Believe it or not but I have pretty much no jumpers. Not even sweater type jumpers. So this season all I want to get are jumpers, big cosy ones which are perfect for the autumn/winter. I love the colour and although I haven't seen it in store I can really see me loving it.

Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie - £7.99
Now this is something that I might get or I might not, I'm not sure. It's a lot of money for what potentially might be a tinted lip balm but when I go to the shop I'll try them all out and decide my favourite. I hope to buy this but it's a lot of money and I'm still not able to justify it at the moment.

Real Techniques Core Collection - £21.99
Despite it being extortionately priced, for me anyway the problem I have with getting this is that I only want 3 out of the 4 brushes. I'm don't really want the flat foundation brush because I'm intending to use the buffing brush for my foundation instead of this but if you think about it, it means that the brushes are only £5.50 each. In the US though, these are priced at $18 which is only £11 or so pounds which is £10 cheaper! I can't believe it!

MOTO Acid Supersoft Leigh Jeans - £38.00
This is the biggest 'wish' in the entire wishlist as I don't tend to spend almost £40 on a pair of jeans but I know that they're really soft, fitted and look really nice as my friend has a pair. I think the acid effect is really nice and I think these would go with so many different outfits.

I could add so much more but i'm going to stop otherwise we'll be here forever! If you know anything about the products that I should know about feel free to post them down below. Sorry for the weird picture spacing, I don't know how to sort it.

Mini Bin!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while! I went on holiday (which is why I posted twice in one day) and got back a couple of days ago but I'm back now!

Look what I found! Whilst walking through ASDA (a British supermarket) on one of our many food shopping trips I found this little cute thing. It's a tiny bin! My mum's always buying little bits and bobs for the house and having a little look at the home sections in supermarkets have become a lot more frequent. When we passed this in the store it was on offer for £4 reduced to £3 I think. After looking on the website though it was reduced to £2 but is unfortunately out of stock at the moment.

Now my normal bin is usually filled with face wipes, cotton pads and buds and all the other junk you put in it. I actually broke my bin ( the bit inside that has a handle and you pull it out then put in a bigger bin or something, it won't pull out) by putting so much stuff in it and pushing it down so the lid will close, so my mum thought I could have this on my desk and just put the face wipes and pads in it instead.

This is just what I needed. I love this because it leaves my normal bin free to be full with proper bin things. For the price it was a great purchase! I'm sure you'll be able to find something else like this in other stores as well. I know it isn't really anything to do with beauty but I use it for beauty related items and it's a storage tip!(Kind off)

Do you have any other storage tips?

MUA Heaven and Earth Palette

Little bit slow on the ol' bandwagon here but I actually didn't know about MUA until mid to the end of May. I've been wanting this palette but as my superdrug was quite small, I couldn't get my hands on it despite going to a couple of different ones. (were sold out) Eventually after about eight weeks of searching, (not very hard as had to fit in with the rest of my families lives) I went back to my own superdrug as they told me eight weeks ago they would be getting an MUA stand. It was a toss up between getting this and the 'Undressed' palette in my head (which is a dupe for the Naked palette, so I've heard, even down to the name!) But my superdrug made the decision for me as they didn't stock the undressed palette but I really want to get it anyway.

As you can see the shades are very pigmented.

(Excuse the red smudge of nail varnish, courtesy of Barry M Nail Paint in 262 Bright Red)

 A really goregous amber/gold shade

Managed to make dents in it already!

Another gorgeous and pigmented highlight shade!

Pretty brown shimmery shades.

As you can see they are all shimmery and aren't matte which I don't mind and these make the most gorgeous neutral eyes. And drumroll please......they come in at a whopping £4!!! For the pigmentation it's brilliant and although it looks smaller in real life than if you see it on camera the size of the eyeshadows are really good. You can see that you do get quite a bit of product as I made a dent in one and it didn't hit pan! A comment on the packaging, a few weeks on from posting this the plasic around the hinges broke so now it's in two pieces but does slot back together, but it was so cheap that I couldn't really expect a lot, but I do tend to sit on the palette so that might just be me!

Do you have the Heaven and Earth palette? Do you like it as much as me?

Boots Vitamin E Moisture Lotion

Now I haven't really been a skincare kind of gal until recently. I was the sort of person who wipes off make up with a makeup wipe and splashes water on their face. I know, I was bad. So I went to boots about a month and a bit ago with some money in my purse and one thing on my mind, get some skin stuff! When I went, the vitamin e range had an offer on, 2 for £4. I don't think the offer is still on in store (it was a while ago) but looking on the website they still have the offer on. It also has an SPF of 15 which I know isn't that high but it's better than nothing!

I've been using this most days (sometimes I forget...) and I used to use this morning and night but I then bought myself a night cream, (review on that when I've used it more) but I use this in the morning before my concealer and foundation. It keeps my skin feeling smooth and soft throughout the day and absorbs into the skin fairly quickly.

(You only need a small amount to cover your face)

You get 100ml of product which I think is very good for the price which I researched and I found out that it is £2.85 which is very reasonable. The packaging is just a squeezy tube which helps for determining how much product you use which I like.

Tell me if you've tried this and what your thoughts on the lotion are!
